Settled in the rainshadow of the mountains, this desert is largely a rocky desert, and in some places vast plates of rock still exist. The stone in this desert is an odd mixture of dark yellow and black. The closer it gets to the mountains, the blacker the stone gets. It can get extremely hot and dry during the day, so anything that lives here has had to evolve to fit such conditions. Centers of Cursed operations are, for some reason, usually in the desert, settled around large oases.
