Volcanic Flats

The Volcanic Flats, on Siccus' northern border, are just as they sound: flat areas of high elevation made of volcanic rock. However, magma constantly lurks beneath the surface, some places closer to the top than others. In some places, the rock on the surface is so warm you could melt through if you stepped in it. In wintertime, it looks like a wasteland belonging in Hell - steam is constantly coming up from the rock, and whatever water has landed is most likely acidic. This is a very perilous place to cross, and only the safest places have been chosen for the Interstate. Hikers are discouraged from traveling here, so be warned of the necessary precautions before traversing this wasteland.
