Mirage Shoreline
Aptly named, the Mirage Shorelines seem to shimmer in and out of your vision, as the heatwaves distort it so you can't tell if it's real or not. Unlike a mirage, however, the shoreline is real, and therefore you don't only see it; you also feel the change in the air, smell the salt and hear the waves rearing up and crashing down on the sand. They can help relieve the unbearable heat of the sun, especially if swum in. Palms and coconut trees also grow here, providing shelter and, in the case of the coconut trees, drinkable fluid outside of an oasis or a muddy well. The ocean extends seemingly endlessly beyond the line of sand. When desert dunes wind up here, it's quite a sight as they attempt to expand their turf out to open sea, and seems to be a miraculous battle between the desert and the ocean.
