No New Posts City of Pyropus

Pyropus is easily Palus' largest and most populated city: it is the state capital. This is most likely the most unique city you'll ever see. First of all, all the foundations of the buildings have been set in pseudodiamond (diamond created in a laboratory) to make sure no leakage or shifting occured in the unstable marsh soil. Therefore, its foundations are stronger than even those of the capital, and they are virtually indestructable. Also, the buildings are distinctly bronze in color. The largest and most well-kept military headquarters are here: it is the major city that is closest to the border, and thus a rallying point for the army. Security around Pyropus' Tri-Tower is just as tight as that of the nation's capital for the same reason.

No New Posts City of Feiras

The City of Feiras is the second biggest city in State of Palus. It's name, Fieras, means wildcats in spanish. That fits it very well too. Where there are not towers and beautiful wonders that should be in a big city, there are dark, dirty alleys full of trash. Here, there are lots of thin scrawny wildcats and dogs. The dogs are often very dangerous, and the cats will attack people if nessesary. Conterary to those outskirts, the center of the city is full as tall towers. It is a very nice place, where everything can be done. Between the downtown area and the outskirts, there is a middle class residental area. It circles the city in a thin group of houses.

No New Posts Forever Swamps

The name for this place is right, these swamps last for miles and miles. They cover a lot of the state, surrounding the two cities. They, like all swamps, have muddy water and lots of moss and mold. It could be inhabited by humans, though there would need to be mass purification of everthing in the area, like what was done to the City of Feiras and the City of Pyropus.

No New Posts Pluvia Cadet Forest

Covering much of the southern reaches of the state of Palus, Pluvia Cadet - Latin for "Rain Fall" - certainly lives up to its name! The Forest isn't as large geographically as old-Earth rainforests were, but it is still very large - and holds the same dangers the old forests did. But also the same benefits, such as an unknown quantity of medicinal plants. Humans haven't even come close to discovering all that lives in the Pluvia Cadet Forest, either flora or fauna, and they haven't even rediscovered all that they once knew, either. Expect to find as much and as little as forests such as the Amazon once held - except many of the plants are bigger than ever, most especially the trees, most of which tower two hundred feet or more into the air, at the very least. The size of some of the inhabitants may come as a surprise, too. And the surprise isn't always a pleasurable one...

No New Posts Virdis Mons

Their name meaning "Green Mountains" in Latin, the 4-5,000-foot high Virdis Mons really live up to their title - they're faces are mostly covered in thick jungle, rounding their sharp edges and causing them to look like irregular, deep green emeralds, though the greenery thins some on the northern and western ends, due to less rain-carrying winds. Many also have rocky crags jutting from their crests, some vertical, some sloping, some with good footing, some with bad, all of them giving stunning views of the surrounding countryside for miles and miles around. Cracked with unpredictable canyons and valleys, crisscrossed with rivers and streams beneath the canopies, and tunneled with various kinds of caves, caverns and underground catacombs through at least half of the range, the Virdis Mons are one of the most prominent landmarks of Palus. They're located towards the northeast of the state, and the Pluvia Cadet rainforest spreads out in a green blanket from their southern roots.

No New Posts Sticka-Stinka-Roo Swamp

No one's quite sure who chose the name - some say it was a noble's child who did, and the parents humored him/her - but no one can argue that it doesn't fit. The stagnant water combined with all the rotting vegetation serves to create a gagging stench that'll turn even the mightiest of warriors, and the deep, clinging mud beneath the black gunk sticks to everything and weighs you down like a ton of bricks - and carries the same stink!

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
State of Palus
The State of Palus, which, fittingly, is latin for "swamp," is the state closest to the Midland. It shares its southwestern border with it. It is also the state closest to the Equator. The climate is subtropic, though it's so close to being tropic that it's hard to tell the difference. Winters are warm and summers are unbearably hot. It's always humid here, though it's the most humid in the summertime. Most people who live here have never seen snow all their lives. Though Siccus is geographically larger, the states of Palus and Siccus have about the same population.
